Jolie Voight, (born on the 4th of June, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, U.S.),
American actress and director known for her sexy appeal and edginess and also
for her charitable work. Jolie was awarded an Academy Award for her supporting
role as a mental patient in Girl, Interrupted (1999).Jolie, daughter of actor
Jon Voight, spent much of her growing up in New York before relocating to Los
Angeles at age 11. After being at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute
for two years ago, she later enrolled at Beverly Hills High School. She then
studied acting at New York University. She also performed in theater
productions as well as modeled for music videos. It was in Hackers (1995) that
Jolie was introduced to Jonny Lee Miller, a British actor (married 1997;
divorced 1999). Like many of the subsequent films, the film could not garner a
following. Jolie was the actress who played the role of governor's wife in
Alabama, a segregationist was the subject of much interest in 1997. In the
following year, she received an award called the Golden Globe Award. In the HBO
film Gia, she was a model who suffered from drug addiction. The actress was
awarded numerous distinctions, including a Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors
Guild Award. In 1999, she was a part of the comedy Pushing Tin with John Cusack
and Billy Bob Thornton, and that same year, she got married Thornton (divorced
2003).After her Oscar-winning turn in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie was a part of a
number of action-oriented films. She was the girlfriend of carjackers (Nicolas
Cage) in Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000) and later adopting an accent that
resembled a British accent and mastered combat sports and street fighting for
the roles of the title in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb
Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). In 2004 she portrayed the mother of
Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone's Alexander and also starred opposite
Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, a sci-fi
thriller set in 1930s New York City. Both films did poorly at the box office,
but Jolie made a splash with Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). She played a
woman who pretended to play an assassin. While making the film, she met Brad
Pitt who became her partner.
